Val Casies/Gsieser Tal Valley

South Tyrol can be divided into 5 principle valleys, from which more secondary valleys come out to make their way between various massifs.

The largest valleys flank the major rivers in such a manner that when one talks about the major rivers, they should certainly mention the Val Venosta/Vinschgau Valley and the Valle dell’Adige/Etschtal Valley, as well as the Valle Isarco/Eisacktal Valley with a river of the same name, and the Val Pusteria/Pustertal Valley that serves as a bed for the Rienza/Rienz river. While there is a lot of literature on the largest valleys, those small are still to be discovered, especially outside the beaten tourist tracks. One of these valleys is the Val Casies/Gsieser Tal Valley.

It shouldn’t always be a constant adventure. Those, who from time to time prefer to stand with their feet fixed to the ground, should absolutely spend some time in peace and quiet of the sunny Val Casies/Gsieser Tal Valley. This marvellous lateral valley of the Alta Val Pusteria is a perfect destination for excursions among nature, during the high season. The most ambitious hikers can depart from here to reach more challenging itineraries.
Not only hikers, but also cycling enthusiasts will derive pleasure from this territory. Breathtaking routes cross silent woods and cut through green meadows, without violating the integrity of flora and fauna. The so-called Roman Road is a classic track either for cycling groups and for single cyclists. We strongly recommend it to you because it will give you unforgettable emotions.
