Mountain bike & Downhill
Mountain bike and South Tyrol? It’s a wonderful combination, because in the numerous small valleys, far away from busy roads with cars and motorcycles, one can find many paths to conquer in a saddle of their two-wheel friend.
It’s enough to have a proper physical condition to be able to rush along the itineraries of the valleys leading up to the mountain peaks. It’s true that every start is difficult, but with a bit of patience, meter after meter, you will move forward, learning much from yourselves. And don’t forget that finally, your persistence will be rewarded with a rapid descent.
The Plan de Corones/Kronplatz is an absolute biker's paradise. Whether you ride up the mountain under your own power or use the lifts, there are 6 downhill trails of varying degrees of difficulty waiting to be ridden by freeride mountain bikers. The medium-difficulty and 8.5 km long downhill trail “Bike & Freeride Gassl”, for example, runs from the summit to the valley station Valdaora/Olang, only 1.5 km from our hotel, and is suitable for both beginners and advanced bikers.
