Tre Cime di Lavaredo in the Dolomites

Unfortunately, not all the peaks and natural monuments can be reached with the same easiness by every mountain lover.

The Three Peaks of Lavaredo, the contour of which is present in most photo souvenirs, are accessible also to vast public. One just has to have a pair of good mountain boots, a proper training and eventually an expert guide. That’s why various sport events take place here, as for example, the Race of the Three Peaks, an unmissable event for hard-boiled mountain lovers.

The name itself is prognostic, as it stands for the fact that this mountain of the Sesto Dolomites consists of three precipitous rock teeth: Big Peak, Western Peak and Little Peak. Side by side, the Three Peaks get close to 3000 meters of height, missing only one meter. In spite of this, the fun is guaranteed.

Hikers, climbers and photographers can reach the Three Peaks of South Tyrol, by departing from Dobbiaco. Once arrived, you can make a round of the Three Peaks in approximately four hours, only once coming across a part of the mountain slightly exposed and thus, a bit more difficult to hike over. Or else, you can undertake one of the numerous “via ferratas”, fixed well and divided by difficulty degrees. In such a way, you can challenge yourself and enter into harmony with the mountain.
